Why should I add my documents?

A benefit of The Food Corridor is the document tracking system. You can add expiration dates to any document and let The Food Corridor send you notifications before the document expires.

Expiration notifications are sent to both you and your kitchen admin 45 days, 2 weeks, and 3 days before the document is set to expire, giving you plenty of time to renew and update.

Different categories of documents can be uploaded and stored on the platform.

My Documents

Required documents

These documents are specific to your food business. Generally, these are Food Handler/ServSafe Certificate, Food Business License, and Insurance, but these requirements vary kitchen to kitchen.

You and your kitchen can upload and access these documents.

  • Add: Documents tab > My Documents > Upload and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Update: Documents tab > pencil icon (edit) to the right of the document > Upload and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Delete: Documents tab > trashcan icon to delete the uploaded file > Delete Document

Your kitchen may offer the ability to apply for liability insurance with FLIP through the required insurance document in your Food Corridor account. This allows for a seamless application, which syncs your policy details to the document requirement, and automatically notifies you when your policy has expired, and needs to be renewed. If your policy is set to auto-renew, you'll see the renewal date in your Documents tab and will notified when it has renewed and the new updated policy will be uploaded automatically. Don’t see the prompt to “Apply with FLIP”? Reach out to your kitchen to see if they offer this option.

Private documents

Private documents are documents just for you to access and are not visible to your kitchen. You can upload these to your account to help you keep everything accessible and in one place.

  • Add: Documents tab > Add Document > choose 'No, this document should only be visible to me' > Upload, add notes, and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Update: Documents tab > pencil icon (edit) to the right of the document > Upload and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Delete: Documents tab > trashcan icon to delete the uploaded file > Delete Document

Shared documents

Shared documents are documents that are accessible to both you and your kitchen, but are not required. You can upload these to your account to help you keep everything accessible and in one place.

  • Add: Documents tab > Add Document > choose 'Not required, but I want my kitchen to access it' > Upload, add notes, and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Update: Documents tab > pencil icon (edit) to the right of the document > Upload and enter the expiration date if applicable > Save

  • Delete: Documents tab > trashcan icon to delete the uploaded file > Delete Document

Kitchen Documents

Kitchen documents are informational documents provided to you by your kitchen (floor plans, package descriptions & pricing, orientation packets, etc). These are documents that your kitchen has added for you and all their clients to see/download, so you can access them at any time. Go to Documents > Kitchen Documents to view.
