How to verify your bank account

If you are unable to verify your bank account, you may need to verify it manually. Click the gear icon in the upper right corner ⚙️ > Account Settings > Payment Method > Select your preferred payment method > Bank Account > enter your Account Holder name and email address > Continue > a pop up window will appear, asking you to link your bank account > click ‘manually verify instead’ at the bottom of the message.

  • Enter your bank account and routing number here

  • 1-2 business days after you do this, depending on your banking institution, our payment processor will either send one deposit of $0.01 or two microdeposits under $1.00 in that account. This is to verify that this is your account. Follow the prompt that is given on the payment screen.

  • If the instructions read that Stripe will send one $0.01 deposit, follow these instructions:

    • Look for this deposit in your bank account.
Stripe will send a single, 0.01 USD microdeposit to your bank account with a unique, 6-digit descriptor code that starts with SM.

    • Click here to enter the 6-digit descriptor code. For example, if the code is SM1234, you'll enter the numbers 1234. This verifies that you own the bank account.

  • If the instructions read that Stripe will send two microdeposits under $1.00, follow these instructions:

    • Look for the deposits in your bank account. Stripe will send two, non-unique microdeposits to your bank account, with a statement descriptor that reads AMTS: <amount1>,<amount2>. You will enter the deposit amounts to verify your bank account.

  • Once your bank account has been verified, payment processing proceeds as usual.

Things to double check:

Does the name on the bank account match, exactly, the name you added in the payment capture page?

Tip: while you're waiting on the microdeposits, you can update your payment method to a credit card in the meantime. Once you receive the microdeposits, you can "update" your payment method back to ACH, re-fill out your ACH info and enter the 2 deposits to verify.
